Eliminator
2021

Two upsets in Week 9, and just like that it was over. Dallas and Buffalo both choked, taking most of the remaining eliminator entrants with them. Three players survived, and they chose to split the pot rather than see who really is the best.

Congratulations to Derek Nichols, Justin Clark and Donald Mundy who understood that the Eliminator is in the head, not the keyboard. They each receive $400 for their efforts. They were clever, they made smart picks, they won. Like I always say: Put a fox in the henhouse and you'll have chicken for dinner every time.

The final people gunned down in 2021 were:

  1. Peggy Allen

  2. Matt France

  3. Mark Horwath

  4. Yusuf Ahmed

  5. Dan Trejbal

  6. Danielle Horwath

  7. Brent Wheeler

Enjoy the rest of the football season, everyone. We'll see you next year.

The pot is worth $1,200. That's a lot to split.

The Rules

  1. Pay your $25 entry fee promptly. We will kick people out who have not paid by Week 1!

  2. Each week choose one team you think will win.

  3. Notify Mark or Chris of your pick prior to kickoff in that game. No late selections will be accepted.

  4. Remember who you picked, because you may not pick that team again. (Check back here if you forget.)

  5. Don't pick a loser. If you do, you're out.

FAQ

Q: They just kicked off, and only six seconds have expired. Sorry I'm just a tiny bit late. May I still take The Browns?

A: While you're devotion to The Browns is laudable, no, you may not. Make your pick on time. Late picks are not allowed. We need to receive emails on time and will check time-stamps in close cases. Best thing to do is be sure to email it a half hour before kickoff or even earlier.

Q: I'm going to be out of town and away from email for a couple of weeks. What can I do?

A: You could call or text your picks in, but if that's not an option, you can always pick ahead. You are welcome to select your teams for the next few weeks.

Q: Wait, I changed my mind. Can I change my pick?

A: Yes, as long as you do it before kickoff in the relevant games. Don't make a habit of it, though.

Q: I want to know whom everyone else picked. Where and when can I find out?

A: Come to this web page. We post the picks once we have them all. (Sometimes they are delayed if Chris is golfing.)

Q: My team tied. That's good enough, right?

A: No. The goal is to pick winners. A tie counts as a loss.

Q: I forgot to pick a Sunday game! What do I do now?

A: Pick a Monday night game. If there is none or if you already used both teams, you eat a loss and are out.

Q: I want to relive my glory from last year now that I'm eliminated in Week 3. Can I look at those standings?

A: Maybe. Results from most previous years have been archived: 2020, 2019, 2018 Reliminator, 2018 2017, 2016, 2015 Reliminator, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2008 are available. (Sorry, I forgot to backup 2007 and 2009, but the stats are available at the bottom of this page.) (These will become links when I have time)

Q: May I pick against the Browns?

A: Yes, if you suck.
